Well, that's what they want you to think.
To some of the 7,200 people who live on this island, Melilla is a prison. The government that rules over this tropical utopia is conservative, strict on morales, and lives by the Ten Commandments. People, every Sunday, must attend mass in their town's church, must confess their sins, and pass on these values to their children. It may sound like the government has it all under control, but do they?
Say hello to the seven heavenly virtues that govern this island. No, these are not angels sent from God to punish those in the wrong and pass judgement. These virtues look like ordinary people, just like you and me. They have everyday jobs within the government. Some are generals, some are judges, one is even the President. And since World War II, this island has had no conflicts with the outside world. It is in its own bubble. It does not attract many toursists because it is so remote...
And they do not let you leave once you arrive.
Everyone knows the seven deadly sins. Much like these influential virtues, the sins are just as persuasive, and they are just average people. Greed could be Melilla's treasurer and Sloth could be incharge of the FDA. You will never know-because they will never tell.
The sins are sick of having to stay put, stay quiet, and pretend that life on this island is fine and dandy. Therefore, they decided to do what they do best and...ruffle up the peace. They are the right hand men and women of the humans in charge of the island; they whisper in their ear all the evil they can to stop this nonesense of no freedom of religion or freedom of speech and press. They want a say in the government, and they plan on getting it.
And right under the radar without the world realizing it, the tiny island of Melilla, Spain is on the brink of entering a subtle civil war. Those who want their freedom unknowingly stand side by side with 'demons' while those who want to keep the current laws stand side by side the 'angels' and those who are aware of these 'supernatural' being-just want them all gone.
Welcome to Melilla, Spain.
Where the people smile. Where everyone is sweet and carefree. Where the weather is always just right and the water crystal blue. And where the people ask for:
